Arpan is a recognized Socio-cultural organization of the Indian Expatriate community, enlisted with the Embassy of India, Kuwait. Arpan was founded during the year 1999 by a group of enthusiastic Indians from the southern states of India. Even though it was started as a small organization, Arpan has spread its wings deep in to the expatriate Indian community of Kuwait and now it is well rooted.

Activities

Within the span of just few years Arpan has successfully conducted number of social & cultural events, family get together and other cultural activities.

Financial Aid through Indian Embassy


Arpan has always been taking a leading role in helping the community at the hour of crisis. We had extended its financial support to the Indian Embassy, within its reach, in order to settle the issue of a very large number of stranded Indian laborers in Kuwait during January-February 2002.

Since its’ establishment, Arpan has played a vital role in finding a solution to the raising of exorbitant air fares to India (2000)

Cultural Dedications

An opportunity to local artists (musician and children) is Arpan's intention with the programs with local artists and buds. We ensured the same by conducting a classical music cum competition program (2001).

In 2002 Arpan had presented the mega carnival of the year as “Utsav-2002” with the famous South Indian film stars Joemol, Sarath,and Playback Singers Rajeeve Peter, Aparana and Shameem.

Arpan was with another dimension of its research on Indian Music and it was with the caption “Nadam Venunadam” in 2003 with the great figure of melody, Indian Play Back Singer G.Venugopal and Rajalakshmi.

Talent Search-2004

Arpan brought out the plat form to the students in Kuwait to perform and compete their talents in extra curricular activities and it was well accepted by the society, especially the parents of the community. The two days program provided the stage to the youngsters to come up out of the shell, where thousands attended to encourage and appreciate.

Symposium on Science & Family-2005

We held a symposium on “Science and Family” at the Indian Community School auditorium, Salmiya (Amman branch) which was led by renowned scientist Dr R V G Menon and well-known writer and Secretary of Cheshire Homes, India, Trivandrum Chapter, Vimala Menon. Integrated Rural Technology Centre (IRTC), Kerala, scientist Dr Lalithambika also attended the symposium in which a large number of Arpan family members and well-wishers participated. Delivering the keynote address on “Tradition and Changes in Modern Society,”

Dr Menon emphasized his point that acceptance of changes is the nature of a growing society. “Changes are inevitable. But the changes should not harm the traditional roots of human life” He also pointed out that one cannot take a particular period as a cross section of tradition, because tradition cannot be static. His speech was followed by a live discussion on the subject in which several people actively participated.

Vimala Menon in her impassioned, but thought-provoking speech spoke about “Family Relation” which evoked thunderous applause from the audience.

Aid to Old aged & handicapped ones of Cheshire Homes -2005

Arpan has made an on the spot announcement on the occasion to make a contribution to the Cheshire Home, Trivandrum. Arpan’s Treasurer has handed over an official letter to Mrs.Vimala Menon, the Hon.Secretary at the symposium stage and later on transferred the fund to them.

AFP – A program for targeted youth-2005

Arpan-Kuwait has come out with Foundation Program for the benefit of Indian students with AFP- Arpan's Foundation Program.

The foundation program has been designed for students to prepare them for higher education as well as to help them to choose their career successfully and above all the fine-tuning of their overall personal attributes and ultimately to pave the foundation for them to become highly successful in their life.

In today’s fast changing world one of the major concerns of parents is the lack of exposure and competitiveness of our children as compared to their counterparts in the world. There is growing necessity to provide motivational course to our children to face the tough competition whether in Professional education or Career selection.
